http://www.kaupthingiom-dag.co.uk I put my life savings on deposit with Kaupthing Isle of Man after being assured that my money was safe. With the backing of the Financial Supervision Commission the directors put over 50% of the bank's assets into Kaupthing UK which subsequently went into Administration! I received no letter of explanation or apology from the directors, and now I have to wait 6 years before I get a fraction of my money back. My message to anyone who is thinking of depositing in the IoM is: "don't bank on the Isle of Man" More on this here:

But the Isle of Man is the best place to live in the world! You should
be proud to live here. I bank in the Isle of Man, but they haven't
taken my money.
I do feel sorry for you loosing all that
money though. Touch luck i guess!
What the hell? You could use your singing talent to recoup your losses
maybe? Seriously though i've got little sympathy for anyone that
trusts banks with their money. You know your money doesn't technically
exist once is the bank don't you? It's just code on servers. Very
little is kept as cash - about 1% in the world if i remember rightly.
Keep it in cash form in your house and get a gun or purchase equity
that doesn't depreciate such as property. Simples.
As an Investor you should educate yourself and maybe have questions
for your Financial Advisor.
