The Castle Mona Hotel still stands but is no longer the Quality hotel at the heart of Douglas promenade. It has remained closed since abrubtly closing in December 2006. Originally built as a home for the Duke of Athol in 1801 it became a hotel in 1835.
Recently a charitable company has proposed setting up a College in the building for computer technology courses.
