Rushen Abbey by the Silverburn river in Ballasalla is the ancient home of the church on the Isle of Man. The Abbey was closed at the time of the
reformation with much of the stone used for local building work. After time spent as a tourist site and the Academy night club in the 1980's and 90's
the site was bought by the Isle of Man government in 1998. Manx National Heritage have built a visitor centre, as part of which you can see the models featured here.
